Our last post left off just before sanding some diy wood filler mixed from heart pine sawdust and too little glue and realizing we d need to apply a second. The end result was a floor that needed to be heavily repaired with new heart pine some serious tar that needed to be removed from the old flooring and the need for a whole lot of sanding. So consider this my contribution to the internet in the hopes that the next person who is desperately googling for photos of refinished pine flooring not hickory. I am now the most knowledgeable person in the galaxy with regard to pine flooring.

Consequently most heart pine floors are old which makes them. Whether it s a new floor or a re sand as a rule of thumb sand the floor on a diagonal of about 15 to 30 degrees with 36 or 40 grit paper. However there are a few key things to keep in mind about pine floors when you re trying to refinish them. This makes for a long day.

Just regular old pine that isn t darkened and yellowed actually sees this post and has the heart to save them. When i accidentally ripped up all my floors this past fall as one does i decided i was going to research everything there was to know about refinishing pine floors until my fingers were numb and my floors weren t orange.
